United Choir
The sacred music ministry under the Shenzhen Christian Church committee takes charge of Sunday service, music service in celebrations for significant festivals and evangelical events, sacred music and plays, performance in weddings and funerals, and guidance for choirs.

The Christian chorale, a part of the sacred music ministry, is headed by a minister. The minister, responsible for the choir spirituality growth, puts emphasis on nourishing spirituality of the choir members. The minister goes with the chorale in significant visits.

The united choir, sometimes called the choir for the SZCC & SZTSPM, is often referred to as the Shenzhen sacred music chorus to non-Christians. The choir, under the aegis of the sacred music ministry, comprises a commander, an art director, a conductor, a pianist, and voice parts like soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and bass. Members of the choir come from all the classes and fields in the city – some are teachers, some professors, engineers, white collars, doctors, and management talents. Most of them have a bachelor’s degree. Thank God for blessing us with the talent of singing.

Ark Choir
The Ark choir, formerly a church choir, is the earliest choir set up by the SCC when it was resumed for service on Heping Road in May 1984. The choir was renamed as Ark Choir because of a Noah’s Ark-shaped building in the church. Most of the choir members are middle-aged people with outstanding singing skills and gift. The choir, with some 50 members, usually gives a performance in the evening worship services held in the SCC on Sundays.

Youth Choir
The SCC Youth Choir only had more than 10 members when it was set up in October 1996. Thank God for His guidance, the choir saw nearly 60 members by 2009, including those who had yet to give a debut performance. The members, aged between 18 and 40, are all baptized Christian believers.

A committee is set up for the daily affairs of the choir. The committee, elected by the choir members, consists of two team leaders, two commanders, four vocal part leaders, a general affair manager, and a financial manager. The choir committee holds meetings regularly for the discussion of general affairs. The choir pays great attention to spirituality – choir members were expected to make prayer and share and copy Bible verses every week until a spirituality team was set up in 2009 to get the members closer to God.

The youth choir focused on numbered musical notation and popular singing styles when it was set up. The choir started to learn the staff in January 2005 as the members knew more about music evangelism and the church attached greater importance to traditional hymns. The songs and the 400 hymns are staff notated now. The choir is made up of four voice parts, namely soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and bass.

The Youth Choir, dedicated to performance in Sunday service and church celebrations, is also invited to give a performance in weddings held in churches. It makes a visit to churches out of Shenzhen regularly for communication, leaving footprints in cities and provinces like Chaozhou, Shantou, Shunde, Qingyuan, Shaoguan, Huidong, Meizhou, Dapu, Guangxi, and Hunan.

The growth of the Youth Choir is a witness of the grace and guidance of the God. May the glory go to the God!

Evergreen Choir
We worship the only and everliving God, who is the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Praise Him for He is enthroned in the praises of people (Psalm 22:3). Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise Him, all you people (Psalm 117:1). The choir is a spiritual fellowship selected by the God to worship and praise Him with songs. With the approval from Rev. Liao Deguang, the Evergreen Choir was set up in November 1997 by Lin Xunde from the SZCC under the guidance of the God. The choir, with only 11 members, made a debut performance on March 28, 1998. Thank God for His mercy, the choir members, with the help from Rev. Ji Zhesheng, Mr. Zhu Wei, and Mr. He Huibin, improved their sense of sacred music, developed their singing talent, promoted their fraternal love, and fulfilled their mind with the sense of singing praise to God. The choir now has a command of the staff, bel canto singing skills and 4-part chorus. The choir tries everything it can to strengthen its spirituality and improve its singing skills. The choir now has 50 members, all of whom are brothers and sisters aged 50-80. Mr. Lin Xunde and Liu Wuxia act as commanders and pianists while Sister Chen Hongqi serving as the conductor. We attach great importance to spirituality – Chen Huilin, leader of the choir, is in charge of spirituality and Rev. Bezal Cai and Preacher Lin Shaoyuan help the choir members in spirituality growth. Sister Lin Meier and Sister Gu Leping take charge of the daily affairs.
Evergreen Choir gives a performance in worship services on Christmas and Christian celebrations as well as sacred music worship in Good Friday, Easter, Christmas Eve, apart from performance in Sunday service. In addition, the choir gives a performance in celebrations, sometimes two celebrations without a break, when the scheduled choir can’t make it. It also sets foot in other church ministries like wedding performance and choir reception. The choir often visits churches out of Shenzhen and shares its thoughts about sacred music with peers in the church visited. The choir members are willing to present God with the most beautiful poems.
Looking ahead, the choir members will, under the leadership of Rev. Bezal Cai, work hard to make further improvement in spirituality and music skills to set up a qualified choir favored by God.

The choir, which focused on numbered musical notated poems at first, has extended its reach to the staff after years of joint efforts from choir members. The 50-member choir strives to improve its singing skills with the help of many excellent sacred music teachers while fostering its spirituality. Members of the choir, most of which are elites in the society, are outrunners in both religious accomplishment and education.
